I grew up on a family farm in Townsend, Montana. At an early age I was fascinated and inspired by nature. And when I became a photographer, I felt fortunate to be able to draw from this country upbringing and to share with others what had touched me deeply from my rural past.I also lived in other big sky communities with new places to explore more extensively in the mountains, rivers and landscapes. I was further challenged by my travels around the Azores (Portugal), and to Provence. Basically over the last forty years I’ve tried to capture photographically anything that is beautiful to my eye.My homemade framing developed afterward. I love to work with wood, and designing the frames went along with enhancing my individual photos in a special way. I’ve also had a strong connection with working with my hands because my father was a carpenter. I worked alongside him at the home place and at his job sites.
