I never mind taking a risk. I enjoy works that are both academic and painterly. I enjoy bringing the viewer in and pushing them another direction through movement, vivid color, brush stroke, and image. It is more important for me to express how something or somewhere feels than what it necessarily looks like. I enjoy the relationships and the passages that push both your eyes and mind to another place. When a person walks into a gallery and sees a piece of my work from fifty feet away, they know that it is mine”. |
