Dale Marie Muller was born in New York and grew up in New Jersey. At an early age she was fascinated by art and the artist. Her natural artistic ability and curiosity led her to study at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she achieved a BFA degree. In 1996 she moved to Montana. It was in these beautiful surroundings, the Beartooth Mountains and Yellowstone, where her love of animals blossomed. Today she is well known for her elegant oil paintings and graphite drawings depicting the true beauty of all wildlife. Her distinct style has set her work apart as one of today’s leading wildlife artists.
Her sketchbooks and canvases emulate a level of refinement capturing the most beautiful details bringing her subject matter to life. As an elected member of the prestigious Society of Animal Artists her work is featured in museums and galleries across the country, promoting excellence in the portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet. This association represents the finest wildlife painters and sculptors in the United States and around the world and is devoted to educating the public through informative art seminars and teaching demonstrations.
Dale’s lifelong influences shine through in all of her work, awarding her with an ever-growing following. Over the years she has created a compelling body of work. The combination of her graphite drawings and oil paintings adorn private collections across the country. She is continuously awarded for her devotion to wildlife art and artistic achievement in both mediums. When Dale is not working in the studio she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
From my first experience working with oil paint, I was captivated by it. There was something essentially spiritual about it. I felt a deep rooted connection to the past, transcended to the studio of an old master. I have always been fascinated by the freedom, the mystery, the depth of self motivation of the artist. The ability to be in tune with nature, to be true to yourself, listening to your inner creative voice inspired me at an early age and has fueled my artwork ever since. In recent years I have created a soulful body of work, both oil paintings and graphite drawings, resonating my deep respect for all wildlife.
The deepest inspiration for all of my artwork is simply beauty, the untamed, raw and natural allure along with the indefinable presence of animals in our lives. Feeling this presence profound therefore creating rich and meaningful work, continuing a tradition dating back to the cave paintings of early man. It’s relevance as a contemporary field of fine art compels us today more than ever, inspires all ages. The ability to connect with a true innocence, to tap into the pure unspoken voice, to celebrate art with a greater purpose and awareness will always be my greatest passions.
